Job Title: Business Development Manager – Managed Resourcing
Reports To: Senior Commercial Director
Overview
The Business Development Manager – Managed Resourcing will play a key role in driving the growth of CLS’s Managed Resourcing division by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
This is a commercially focused role, centred on building strong client relationships, developing tailored workforce solutions, and expanding CLS’s footprint within existing and new accounts. You will work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure successful onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
Drive new business acquisition within Managed Resourcing across target sectors.
Identify and develop new client opportunities.
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Develop and present tailored resourcing solutions, including FTE, project-based, hybrid, and embedded workforce models.
Lead on proposals, tenders, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with client needs and CLS capabilities.
Negotiate commercial terms and service agreements to deliver sustainable and profitable growth.
Client Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across client organisations.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their workforce challenges and aligning solutions accordingly.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from sales to delivery.
Support account growth by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing clients.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, pipeline, and opportunities within CRM systems.
Collaboration & Delivery Support
Work closely with recruitment and operations to ensure successful service delivery.
Maintain a strong understanding of CLS service offerings and laboratory operations to effectively position solutions.
Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, tools, and market approach.
Where You’ve Come From
Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, etc.) or a Business degree with experience in a scientific or technical environment.
Proven track record in B2B business development within scientific services, contract resourcing, or managed workforce solutions.
Experience selling into regulated industries such as pharma, biotech, or medtech is a nice to have.
Strong commercial acumen, including experience in contract negotiation and solution-based selling.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and grow client accounts.
