We offer bespoke managed service solutions that give clients the option of having our expert team on-site at their own facility or outsourcing those services to us here at CLS.
The Role
We are currently seeking an Environmental Sampler to join our team. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideally suited to someone who enjoys variety in their work, loves being outdoors, and prefers active, practical work over a desk-based role.
The position involves regular travel across Ireland and carrying out environmental sampling in diverse and sometimes challenging conditions and may include working on boats. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on the water, flexible with travel requirements, and open to occasional overnight stays as part of sampling campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Collecting water samples from environments such as lakes, rivers, and treatment plants, as well as carrying out cryptosporidium sampling and water scheme sampling.
Extensive daily driving to client sites nationwide, including driving long distances and towing trailers when required.
Carrying out marine, coastal, and inland environmental sampling, including work conducted from boats.
Preparing, maintaining, and transporting sampling equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
Adhering to site-specific procedures and regulatory requirements.
Maintaining company vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
Liaising professionally with clients while onsite, representing CLS in a positive and professional manner.
Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, GMP, INAB requirements, and CLS quality and technical procedures.
Being flexible to support sampling schedules, including occasional overnight stays.
Carrying out additional duties as required.

Where You Come From
No previous experience required – full training will be provided.
A strong appreciation for following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
A clean, full driving licence is essential.
Experience driving, launching, and retrieving boats is an advantage, but not essential.
Previous experience in environmental sampling, marine work, laboratory work, or other field-based roles is beneficial but not required.
